Each month, sa move brings you our pick of SA events that everyone should have on their calendar.

February 2025

SA is the place to be this February. Festival fervour is in the air, and your social calendar will be as hot as the weather with these fabulous events.

1. Treasures of the Viking Age: The Galloway Hoard

When: 8 February – 27 July
Where: South Australian Museum

Do your eyes glint at the thought of hidden treasures? The world’s richest find of rare and unique Viking-age objects has taken to the high seas (or maybe to the high skies) and arrived in Adelaide – the first time the treasures have been outside the UK since being buried around AD900. The Treasures of the Viking Age: The Galloway Hoard exhibits rarely seen gold and silverwork, beads, pendants, relics and many other curios.

Want to get more of a Viking fix? Start gathering your best horned helmets, growing bushy beards and polishing your blades and shields in preparation for the exhibition’s two-day Vikingfest in June.

2. The Garden of Unearthly Delights

When: 14 February – 23 March
Where: Rundle Park/Kadlitpina

Circus performers and talented singers,
Show rides, magicians and skilled award winners,
Comedians, actors tugging heartstrings
These are a few of my favourite things.

The Garden of Unearthly Delights is kicking off festival season, opening their pearly gates early for an extended six-week run so you don’t miss any of your favourite things. New for 2025, get a taste of the very best of The Garden for free every Sunday at The RAA Garden Party. From mind-blowing magic to side-splitting comedy, it’s perfect for the whole family. It gets even better for RAA members, who can save 10 per cent on tickets to selected shows in The Garden. Step across the threshold and enjoy a little slice of heaven on earth.

When: 15 February
Where: Christies Beach

SA isn’t called The Festival State for nothing. Set against a backdrop of brilliant blue water, golden sand and sunset, the Rotary Park at Christies Beach will come alive this summer with the tastes and treasures of local artists and artisans.

Head to the Beachside Food and Wine Festival for an afternoon and evening filled live music and stunning views while sampling a selection of local beverages and food.

4. Coonawarra Fringe

When: 21–23 February
Where: Various locations, Coonawarra region

Join Adelaide Fringe on a road trip to SA’s own ‘red centre’ for a weekend of the region’s famous cabernet sauvignon paired with laughter, spooky spectres and ‘faulty’ dining. The Coonawarra Fringe is bringing four diverse acts to town: Kel & Amy’s Comedy Road Trip, the unmissable Faulty Towers Dining Experience, Haunted 2.0 The Witching Hour and a musical extravaganza showcasing the life of Nina Simone. It gets even better for RAA members who can get 10 per cent discounted tickets to all four shows. Let’s get this show on the road!

6. Rear Vision: The Holden Collection

When: 28 February – 22 June
Where: State Library of South Australia

“Oi Steve, could you move the Camira? I need to get the Torana out so I can get to the Commodore.” Like Darryl Kerrigan from The Castle, Australians loved the locally made Holden, with the vehicle manufacturer a driving force behind the country’s car sales for many decades.

Buckle up and take a ride through the company’s iconic history, showcased in Rear Vision: The Holden Collection at the State Library. You’ll find original materials, rare documents and contributions from former employees. Keep an eye out for talks, tours and activities that the whole family will love.
