Each month, sa move brings you our pick of SA events that everyone should have on their calendar.

April 2025

Don’t be a fool this April. Mad March is over, but there’s still loads of unmissable events happening around South Australia. Here’s our favourite April events to check out.

1. Human Nature

When: 2 April
Where: Adelaide Entertainment Centre

Am I only dreaming? Or is this Human Nature gliding into town? Take your dancing off the streets and into the Adelaide Entertainment Centre as the global pop stars celebrate 20 years since reinvigorating Motown for the modern audience. The MTWN20 tour features the best of their Las Vegas productions, including popular favourites from their Reach Out, Dancing in the Street and Get Ready albums and much more.

Now you’ve heard it through the grapevine, RAA members get an exclusive offer on Human Nature tickets. Don’t miss this double-whammy of 60s and 90s nostalgia combined.

2. WalkFest

When: 6 April
Where: Belair National Park

Pull up your socks, tie your laces in a double knot and make your way to Walking SA’s free expo, WalkFest. Vehicle entry to the Belair National Park is free for WalkFest attendees with the event kicking off the South Australia’s bushwalking season. Purchase your tickets now to join a guided walk or hike through the national park, with trails that are child, pram, dog and accessibility-friendly right through to challenging three-hour treks.

Hear from local walking clubs, adventure and tourism providers, learn what makes a walkable neighbourhood and be inspired to step out into nature with the arrival of the cooler autumn weather.

3. Gather Round… A Festival of Footy: Inaugural SANFLW vs VFLW

When: 11 April. 6:30pm
Where: Alberton Oval

Footy frenzy is at a fever pitch this month and you’ll be kicking yourself – not goals – if you miss this inaugural clash.

Playing during Gather Round… A Festival of Footy, the South Australian and Victorian women’s football teams will meet for the first time since their 2017 establishment. Cheer on our South Aussie athletes as they put their rivalry to the test at this free evening game.

If you’re in the Barossa, see the SANFL take on the Big V at Tanunda Recreation Park on Saturday, 12 April at 2:45pm.

4. All Historic Mallala 2025

When: 12–13 April
Where: Mallala Motorsport Park

Get as close to the action as you can without driving on the track at SA’s last true picnic race. Park your car right by the track and experience the excitement of the All Historic Mallala up close.

With more than 180 historic racing cars and bikes on the field, you’re in for a treat. There are thrilling races, rare cars on the track and on display, and this year an all-new Trackside Pavilion with a bar overlooking the circuit. Throw in food and drinks, racing simulators, books, merch and free kids’ activities (kids 16 and under get free entry), and you have an electrifying weekend the whole family will enjoy.

5. Barossa Vintage Festival

When: 23–27 April
Where: Various locations in the Barossa region

If you thought time travel was a figment of science fiction, think again. Take a journey through the decades at the Barossa Vintage Festival this April, with more than 85 events to choose from, spanning wine, food, art, music, heritage and the local community.

Claim your spot for the Vintage Festival Parade, a time-honoured tradition that first began in 1949, or see sparks fly at daily free blacksmith demonstrations. Get your feet dirty pressing grapes the old-fashioned way at Grapestomp or sample a little bit of everything at Barons of Barossa’s exclusive tasting experience, 50 years/50 wines. If you’re not lucky enough to live in the area, treat yourself to a getaway to one of the world’s great wine regions.

6. Open Day at The Stables

When: 24 April
Where: 11 Canton Place, Victor Harbor

The Stables aren’t horsing around; they want to see you at their behind-the-scenes Open Day in Victor Harbor. When they aren’t faithfully transporting people from the mainland to Granite Island, the famous Victor Harbor Tramway Clydesdales call the new purposefully designed The Stables home.

This school holidays, gather your herd (free entry for children four years and younger), and saddle up to see these stunning steeds train and strut their stuff. Top off the day with coffee and snacks, and roam the grounds.
