Have your say on South Australia’s road safety strategy
Whether you drive, ride, pedal, walk or rideshare, road safety impacts everyone, not just those with a licence.
That’s why the Department for Infrastructure and Transport (DIT) wants your input into its next road-safety strategy.
South Australia’s Road Safety Strategy to 2031 is a 10-year plan, aiming to cut casualties on our roads, shape investment decisions and improve community safety.
It will rely heavily on input from the general public – people like you, who navigate our roads every day.
From now until 2 November, DIT wants to hear what you have to say about road safety issues as part of their aptly named YourSAy campaign. You can take part by completing an online survey or emailing DIT directly.
The aim of the survey is to find out how you, as a South Australian road user, travel around your community.
Phases of the strategy
As the strategy progresses, more community feedback will be sought – the online survey is just the beginning. Here’s what to expect over the next few months. Phase 1: Engagement with key community stakeholders. Phase 2 (current): Community consultation, including an online quiz and regional sessions in areas associated with high levels of road trauma.
The strategy will take into account all road users – not just motorists.
