5 ways to spoil Dad

Dads. What’s the best way to describe them? They bring the goods with their jokes, advice and hugs. But it’s time to forget the socks and jocks*. Here are five ways to say thanks on their special day.

1. Give him the movie star treatment

If Dad has been talking about checking out the latest action flick on the big screen, why not make the experience a little more luxe and treat him to Gold Class at Event Cinemas Marion? He’ll relax and indulge in style with reclining seats, in-seat service, and exclusive lounge access. So, instead of falling asleep on the couch at home, he can fall asleep – err rest his eyes – while watching the latest blockbusters at the cinema. With such comfy seats, can you blame him?

2. Day spa for Dad

If your dad enjoys a bit of pampering, then gift him a spa treatment from Endota Spa or Longview Day Spa. From a hot stone massage or a facial, there’s bound to be something for every dad. By the end of the session, he’ll be feeling like a new man.

3. Fire up the grill

Throw a shrimp on the barbie! There’s just something about dads and their barbecues. Why not book Dad in for a cooking experience with Weber Grill Academy where he’ll be shown tips, tricks, and recipes, from chicken and barbecue skewers and even brownies. He’ll come away with new skills to showcase when entertaining friends and family around the grill. From gas to charcoal, there’ll be a range of barbecues and accessories used during the demonstrations for Dad to try his hand at and, by the end, declare himself King of the Grill.

4. Rollin’ down the river

Boats and barbecues – this could well be a father’s dream day out. Gift Dad a BBQ Buoys experience he can share with up to 10 of his nearest and dearest that’ll have him living the life as he floats down the River Torrens in donut-shaped boat with a barbecue on board. There’s also the option of adding drinks and nibbles to the package. Chilling and grilling – what could be better? Merrily, merrily, merrily, life is but a dream…

RAA exclusive: Members save 10% on the price. The season begins on 3 September.

5. Adventure on two wheels

Is Dad a bit of a foodie? Does he like to keep fit? Gift him a guided cycling trek with Bike About cycling tours. There’s a 20km Taste of Hahndorf gourmet food and wine e-bike tour which showcases all the beautiful Adelaide Hills’ town has to offer. Starting at The Lane Vineyard, participants will visit Beerenberg to pick strawberries, then make their way to famous Main Street to sample world-class produce before enjoying wine tastings from some of the region’s premium vineyards.

RAA exclusive: Members save 10% on the ticket price.

*Socks and jocks are always a good idea.
