What’s happening to Jetty Road, Glenelg?

One of Adelaide’s most popular shopping, dining and entertainment strips is undergoing a major makeover.
The first section of the Jetty Road upgrade, between Brighton Road and Partridge Street /Gordon Street, has been completed, and the layout can be seen here.
Progress on the western section between Gordon Street/Partridge Street and Moseley Square is under way.
The redevelopment’s main features include:
- Traffic lights and a pedestrian crossing at the Jetty Road and Moseley Street junction.
- A proposed 30km/h speed limit for Jetty Road and a section of Colley Terrace leading to Jetty Road.
- Extra greenery on the street edges.
- Removal of 18 car parks on Jetty Road to make way for the traffic lights and extra greenery.
- Removal of four car parks on Moseley Street to allow for a longer turn-left lane into Jetty Road.
In addition, new stone footpath pavers will replace the old pavers along the length of Jetty Road, and pavers will replace the current Colley Terrace road surface, from Moseley Square to Hope Street.

The road will be the same level as the footpath from the Jetty Road and Sussex Street junction to the Colley Terrace and Hope Street intersection, and for a short distance into Moseley Street.
Jetty Road will have a continuous footpath across some side streets, with vehicles having to give way to pedestrians.
Road closures
Jetty Road between Byron Street and Moseley Square is currently closed to vehicles, but there’s still pedestrian access.
More temporary road closure details can be found at the bottom of this page.
The Jetty Road section of the project is due for completion by the end of December 2025, when the road will be reopened, and the full project should be completed by the second half of 2026.
